Sandy Hook Chapel

Located within Gateway National Recreation Area’s Sandy Hook Unit, this chapel dates back to 1941 and to the U.S. Army in Fort Hancock.

Recently restored, this historic chapel is now leased by the National Park Service for weddings, receptions, events, meetings and more.

The chapel is situated on truly beautiful, scenic and expansive property on a barrier beach peninsula at the entrance of New York Harbor, just barely on the northeast end of New Jersey shore.

Guests can enjoy a variety of historic values at this site, and while the event space is indoors, there is no limit to the walking, hiking, boating and enjoying the space and beach surrounding the chapel.
